How do I detect invalid clicks

I have searched the forum for answer to this and can not find any. There are lots of questions about invalid clicks and how Google frowns upon this, which is acceptable.
However as a newbie I hate to be cut off on my first venture here and am trying to discourage all illegal clicks.
First I told my friends that I am doing it and some emailed back that they will go and click for me, I emailed back that "Please don't do me that favour as it will kill my account"
OK that sorted, now I read that I should monitor my reports, that I obviously do being a newbie I do it every hour (LOL). How can I detect unusual activity?


I have no idea and the report does not show how much each click has earned, so I can get 10 clicks and earn 10p, or get 2 clicks and earn £2, how would I know what is usual and what is UNUSUAL?

And if Google can detect this how long before they let me know that illegal clicks has happened. I can go on for weeks and months making a couple of bucks a day and then when I have some money to write home about, Google can close my account and say "tough..."

Would Google discuss my account activity with me before closure and would they let me know that something is wrong before taking action?

And if they do how can I stop that? I have made sure my few friends I told about the Adsense will not click on my site, but how do I know others do not try to get me banned?

If people use this as a source of income it will be pretty scarry job. Imagin you live and work in constant fear of being told by your boss that you are fired because somebody in the street broke the office windows and that had nothing to do with you?

All I have seen in the replies has been, "don't break the rules", "read the Google Policies" etc. I have done that several times, still I don't know how to avoid this problem and do not wish to learn by experience either.

Don't tell your friends or relatives to click on your advertisements. Or arrange someone to click on your advts.

I use Statcouter, a basic account is free...on it you can monitor Exit Links and the IP of people that clicked them... it is also fairly easy to catch IP addresses which are clicking multiple times.

Guard your AdSense account with care but at the same time try to have a happy life. I would check your account at least twice a day. Report any unsual activity immediately.
